Never be afraid to get dirty, but be sufficiently sure-footed to avoid the abyss of contamination.

Hey, you’re back! How was your day?

(Trombone plays a sad melody.)

Oh, sorry to hear that. Just sit back and relax, and you can tell me all about it. What kind of music do you want to listen to?

How silly of me. I’m going to check on dinner. Can I get you anything while I’m in the kitchen?

(Trombone plays a single note briefly and stops.)

Here’s a glass of water. Dinner will be ready in twenty minutes. I’m just waiting on the rice. So… what’s up?

(Trombone plays a longer, sadder melody.)

I see your point. I know things are difficult right now, but you’re almost there. Don’t give up now. Get some rest. You’ll need the energy to fight another day.

(Trombone moves down the chromatic scale as it decrescendos to silence.)

Dinner’s ready! Oh… you’re asleep. I’ll be quiet now.
