Transient

He walks along the tightrope. Hisses and boos come from below. Someone throws a bottle. Another makes a snide comment about his mother. He does not look down and continues walking. Maintain balance and poise. Balance and poise. He makes it to the other side. The booing stops. The crowd bursts into applause.

Confidence requires the imagination to see past transient behavior.
