Never be afraid to get dirty, but be sufficiently sure-footed to avoid the abyss of contamination.

Museum of Glass

We walk across the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. Welcome to Tacoma!

The museum provides many options and directions. We will see it all and only get to choose the order. We start at the Hot Shop, and the room is toasty. There’s stadium seating, but we stand. Glass artists are creating a work based on the drawing of a child.

A few minutes later, we are looking at the works of Preston Singletary, and it’s hard to believe they were made with glass. They look so woody. A few minutes later, I am blown away (I really wish that were a glass pun) by the glass etchings of April Surgent, who it turns out is younger than I am. Must be getting old, to use the expression of one of my college professors.

Of course, my personal favorite was the Kids Design Glass exhibit. Oh, to be a kid and come here!
