Chandeleur

February 2. I get an invite to Chandeleur. What is it? Help me out here, Wikipedia:

Fête rappelant la présentation de l’enfant Jésus au temple et la purification de la sainte Vierge (Luc,II,22), fêtée chaque année par l’Eglise catholique le 2 février, 40e jour après Noël.

I was hoping for English: Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple. Hmm… it doesn’t roll off the tongue the way Chandeleur does. Oh, that’s what I was trying to find:

In France, Candlemas (French: La Chandeleur) is celebrated with crêpes, which must be eaten only after eight p.m. If the cook can flip a crêpe while holding a coin in the other hand, the family is assured of prosperity throughout the coming year.

While I didn’t witness the coin-flipping feat, it was a great evening.
