Friday Night – III

For people just joining in, you need to play catch-up: Part I Part II

Wrong question! The guy was going on about something, but Pattie wasn’t paying attention. Why did she come out tonight? No, she hadn’t heard of whatever he just said. Why, of all people, did she end up going with Meg? She just needed some company tonight. What was that about his thesis? There were more questions than answers. How could she get him to stop talking? Why couldn’t she just be happy? Meg was giggling again.

“So that’s why–“
“Teej, right? Do you want to play pool?”
“Oh, uh sure,” he responded.
Pattie headed with purpose toward the bar. She didn’t check to see if the guy was following. She approached the two bartenders behind the counter.
“Just unplug the damn–“
“Excuse me,” Pattie started. “I’d like to reserve a pool table.”
