Birthdays

My mother shares a birthday with India’s first prime minister. It’s difficult to top a birthday with that much star power, but my sister managed to do it when she was born on October 2, the same day as Mahatma Gandhi. This set a birthday bar so high (low in the case of limbo rules) that would be nearly impossible for Maya, my niece, to beat. She proved naysayers wrong this morning and now shares a birthday with yours truly.
